Emma Watson will be ringing in the New Year as a single lady.
The 24-year-old actress and Matthew Janney, a 22-year-old student and rugby player at Oxford University, broke up about a month ago after a year of dating. A rep for the actress confirmed the news to the Daily Mail, calling the split "amicable."
Watson's rigorous work schedule was said to be the main factor. She is currently filming Colonia Dignidad, a political drama co-starring Daniel Brühl in Buenos Aires. When finished, the Harry Potter alum will reportedly start shooting The Queen of Tearling, and according to IMDb, she is in pre-production on the flick La La Land.
Watson and Janney were first photographed together in the Caribbean in January where they were seen packing on the PDA. When possible, he would accompany the Noah star on press trips around the world, but they stayed out of the limelight for the most part.
In September, Emma was photographed moving boxes from her home causing people to speculate she was moving in with her beau; however, the couple never lived together.
As for who the Brown alum will date next? Don't count on him to be a celeb.
"I don't date people who are famous, and I don't think it's fair that, all of a sudden, intimate details of their personal life are public as a direct result of me," Watson told Australia's Elle in March. "I wish I could protect them."

America's Next Top Model Contestant Sues Tyra Banks, The CW
This may be a little too fierce. America's Next Top Model contestant Angelea Preston, who competed on Cycle 14 of the reality show before returning and winning Cycle 17, has filed a lawsuit against Tyra Banks and The CW, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Preston alleges in her suit that she never received her grand prize because she was disqualified for previously having been an escort. (The finale was reportedly reshot after Preston was disqualified and instead Lisa D'Amato was named the Cycle 17 winner.) She is suing for breach of oral agreement, breach of written contract, as well as intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress, the latter because she claims the show withheld medical treatment for at least 10 minutes when she had an anxiety attack to make for better TV.
Additionally, Preston is suing for failure to pay minimum wage, failure to pay overtime wages, failure to provide meal and rest breaks and unfair business practices, citing working conditions for the show's contestants.
She is suing for damages on all eight accounts and says she believes she is owed at least $3 million.
The CW issued the following statement in response to Preston's suit: "As noted during the broadcast of the America's Next Top Model finale in 2011, information about Angelea was learned after production wrapped on that cycle that led to her disqualification from the competition. We are confident that her lawsuit has no merit."

Knightley has spoken in the past about wanting to have children, but insisted work would continue to be important to her when she did.

First thing's first, she's the realest. Iggy Azalea took to Twitter in the early hours of Friday morning, Dec. 12, to spread some truth about the latest rumor surrounding her.
"Wait, so I'm just now reading that I was born a man and my name is Cody?" the "Beg For It" rapper wrote. "*Cackling* why Cody tho? Lol."
There was talk last month that Azalea, 24, was welcomed into the world in her native Australia as a little boy named Cody. In actuality, she arrived as a baby girl named Amethyst Amelia Kelly.
The falsehood originated at an entertainment and satirical news website, Huzlers, which wrote that the star confessed her male background in an interview with MTV, though the quotes were never provided. "Huzler's source is wacky because, um, we’re MTV, and Iggy never said that to us," MTV News wrote on Friday.
Azalea had a little fun with the fictitious story nonetheless, tweeting about what her name would be if she was born a boy, and questioning her validity for Billboard's Women in Music Awards.
"I just don't see myself as a Cody," she wrote. "I'm more of a Liam, if had a penis. Liam Azalea."
"Am I still gonna get my billboard women in music award tomorrow, now that I supposedly have a penis or nah?" added the star, who was given the honor of Women in Music's 2014 Chart-Topper.

As the alleged friend told Radar Online, who published the report today, “Jessica is at least three months pregnant. And she’s due in April!”
The Jessica Biel pregnancy rumors were fueeled further by the fact that she her and Justin Timberlake had a hard time getting pregnant.
A second source revealed that the actress hasn’t had it easy getting pregnant till now, “Jessica has had tense times in the past when it comes to having a baby, so it is not surprising that she is staying mum on confirming the news publicly yet,” the insider said.
For Biel and Timberlake, who just celebrated their two year anniversary together on a trip to New Zealand, the child will be their first. According to many commentators the timing of the pregnancy is perfect as Jessica is 32 and Justin is 33.
As previously reported by the same publication, Justin and Jessica were subject to break-up rumors not long ago, when Jessica stopped showing up to support Justin at concerts and during his Saturday Night Live appearance.
Nevertheless, those break-up rumors have now been put to bed as it seems more feasible that Jessica Biel wasn’t able to turn up to support her hubby due to her new pregnancy.

Stars across the globe have now taken to the Ice Bucket Challenge, to raise awareness for those suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or motor neurone disease).

What a way to top off a crummy week.
After getting dragged into the Sony hacking scandal and being shut out of the Golden Globes, Angelina Jolie has come down with chickenpox. The actress-director has been forced to cancel upcoming promotional appearances for her film Unbroken.
"I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days, which is I found out last night I have chickenpox," Jolie, 39, states in a YouTube video posted by Universal Pictures. "So, I will be home, itching and missing everyone and I can't believe it because this film means so much to me. I just can't believe it. But such is life, there it is and send everyone my love and hope everything goes well."
Universal also confirmed that Angelina will be withdrawing from events, including the film's Monday premiere.
“You have to laugh at the timing,” Jolie commented in a statement released by the studio. “I was sure nothing could stop me from supporting Unbroken. I am heartbroken to miss our premiere, most of all the chance to be there with Louis [Zamperini, the film's main subject]'s family; Phil [Phillips, one of Louis's fellow airmen]'s daughter, Karen; veterans; and all the guests who are coming.”
The studio added: “We all wish Angelina a speedy recovery and look forward to her returning to her work very soon. She is in very good spirits, considering after two years of hard work, she will not be there the night it finally premieres.”
Mr. Jolie, aka Brad Pitt, will attend in her place. His family has also flown in for the occasion, and "are all looking forward to seeing the film," according to Universal.
Here's hoping Angelina wasn't contagious when she stepped out for the Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Power 100 breakfast on Wednesday. That would be quite the room to infect, although judging from Jolie's look in the photo, she might not mind passing along the virus to Amy Pascal.
Pascal, the co-chair of Sony Pictures Entertainment, was exposed in a nasty email chain with producer Scott Rudin as part of the ongoing Sony hack. The latter referred to the Oscar-winning actress as a "minimally talented spoiled brat."
Nothing like some quarantined time to plot a sweet revenge! We kid. But really, with six children, it's amazing Angie escaped the pox for so long.

11 Nov – Elanne Kong, whose contractual dispute with former agency Universal International has entered legal proceedings, revealed that she has been working hard since becoming a freelance artiste.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the actress, who now mostly works in mainland China, revealed that she has just finished filming new movie "I Love Fareham" in Xiamen, and has taken a lot of jobs ever since.
"I am very grateful to those who have helped me during my most difficult moment," she said, during a music event at the AsiaWorld Expo. "I have been working hard to raise legal fees, and have already paid six figures for the case."
Declining to make too many comments about the case, Elanne said that she will let her legal representative manage everything.
Asked if she would sign with another company, the actress said that she will only do so after her case is settled so as not to burden her new employer.

Janice Dickinson has accused Bill Cosby of sexually assaulting her in 1982.
Cosby has been the subject of a number of sexual assault allegations, though his lawyers have again denied all claims after they resurfaced in recent weeks.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday (November 18), Dickinson claimed that Cosby assaulted her after she had asked for a pill, as she had been suffering from stomach pains.
"After dinner, in my room he'd given me wine and a pill," Dickinson said.
"The next morning I woke up and I wasn't wearing my pyjamas and I remember before I passed out that I had been sexually assaulted by this man."
She added: "Before I woke up in the morning, the last thing I remember was Bill Cosby in a patchwork robe, dropping his robe and getting on top of me."
Of why she has come forward now, Dickinson said: "I'm doing this because it's the right thing to do, and it happened to me and this is the true story."
Dickinson added that details of the alleged incident had been outlined in a draft of her 2002 memoir No Lifeguard on Duty: The Accidental Life of the World's First Supermodel, but pressure from Cosby and his lawyers forced their removal.
Cosby has denied all accusations against him and has not been criminally charged. He settled a civil suit in 2006 over an alleged incident two years previous.
His lawyer Marty Singer responded to the latest accusations, saying: "Janice Dickinson's story accusing Bill Cosby of rape is a lie.
"There is a glaring contradiction between what she is claiming now for the first time and what she wrote in her own book and what she told the media back in 2002."
He continued: "Ms Dickinson did an interview with the New York Observer in September 2002 entitled 'Interview With a Vamp' completely contradicting her new story about Mr Cosby.
"That interview a dozen years ago said 'she didn't want to go to bed with him and he blew her off'. Her publisher HarperCollins can confirm that no attorney representing Mr Cosby tried to kill the alleged rape story (since there was no such story) or tried to prevent her from saying whatever she wanted about Bill Cosby in her book.
"The only story she gave 12 years ago to the media and in her autobiography was that she refused to sleep with Mr Cosby and he blew her off.
"Documentary proof and Ms Dickinson's own words show that her new story about something she now claims happened back in 1982 is a fabricated lie."

A new official picture of Prince George of Cambridge has been released to mark his first birthday.
The photograph was taken during the prince's trip to the Sensational Butterflies exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London on July 2.
Clarence House released the new image ahead of Prince George's first birthday on Tuesday (July 22).
The young prince was born at St Mary's Hospital, where he was greeted by his father the Duke of Cambridge and other members of the royal family.
His name was formally announced as being George two days later on July 24, with a baptism following on October 23 at St James's Palace.
Prince George and his mother the Duchess of Cambridge were most recently photographed getting into the FIFA World Cup spirit late last month.
He was also present with his parents in April for an official trip to Australia, where he visited the famed the Taronga Zoo.

A week after Taiwanese-based singer Wilber Pan sustained a 17cm-long head injury during a mid-air stunt rehearsal for his concert at the Taipei Arena, he has been discharged from the hospital yesterday.
The 34-year-old expressed gratitude for the concern he received through his management label, “To avoid disturbing the public and other patients, Wilber has returned home to recuperate. We thank the medical personnel of Cathay General Hospital for their care.”
The doctor praised Wilber for his amazing recovery speed, but advised him from wearing any caps in the time being to prevent infection. As he had to shave the hair around the wound, the earliest he can perform again is believed to be in February, after his hair grows out and when he fully recovers.
In addition to the concert, 10 other activities organised by sponsors from now till mid-December have been cancelled too, causing an estimated loss of NT$10million (approximately S$420,000).
After Wilber promised that he will be back for another gig, his manager revealed they have arranged for a new date at the Taipei Arena and the quickest will be next year.

Last night, TVB's TV King and Queen were born! Hot favourite Roger Kwok stood out with his performance in "Black Heart, White Soul", tying the record of three time TV King with Gallen Lo and Wayne Lai. As for Ding Jeh, Charmaine Sheh, she took home the TV Queen award once again after 2006, becoming the first ever Fa Dan to a be a two time "double-win" TV Queen! "Line Walker", which attracted a lot of of attention during its broadcast, won "Best Drama" along with 4 other awards to become the big winner of the night!
The TVB Anniversary Awards 2014 were held at Tseung Kwan O TVB City last night. There were a total of 16 awards, and like last year, TV King, TV Queen and Best Drama were voted by the audience and the judge panel, while "Most Favourite Male/Female TV Character" awards were voted by the audience. On the red carpet, Roger Kwok and Charmaine Sheh, who matched in white, were the last to enter, like they were rehearsing claiming the big awards! Charmaine wore a 250,000 dollar long dress made in France, with 2,500,000 dollar jewelry on this grand night.

Roger Kwok, Wayne Lai, Raymond Lam, Ruco Chan and others were all favourites for the TV King award. Roger Kwok's "evil" performance in "Black Heart, White Soul" had the loudest support. In the end, he won the award being the hot favourite, while Ah Sheh was crowned TV Queen with her character, "Ding Jeh" in "Line Walker"! 39 year old Charmaine Sheh returned strongly after leaving TVB for 2 years, and became the TV Queen hot favourite with her undercover cop character. Benz Hui won "Most Favourite Male TV Character" with 62,705 votes for his character "Foon Hei Gor". Benz, who said he voted for himself, said: "Thanks to the producer for creating this character, I am just playing this character for him. And thanks to my wife and my kids. Other than this, "Best Drama" was won by "Line Walker", taking 20.3% of audience votes and 41.6% in the judge panel's votes; also first place in both categories. When award presenter, Chung King Fai announced the results, he purposely joked and said "3 words!". Beyoncé pregnancy speculations are back. The singer was allegedly spotted sporting what appears to be a baby bump during her meeting with the royal couple Kate Middleton and Prince William in New York.
Queen Bey reportedly looked pregnant when she and husband Jay Z met with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Monday, Dec 8. Power couple met royal couple at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn to watch the Nets vs. Cavaliers basketball game and per the National Ledger Beyoncé and Kate even bonded over talks about their children. They have supposedly agreed on having Blue Ivy and Prince George meet in the New Year. However, while the media was busy reporting on what Kate and Beyoncé may have talked about during their encounter, fans were also quick to point out the singer's outfit.
Gawker claimed Beyoncé wore a loose-fitting blouse to the game to possibly hide her growing baby bump. She reportedly even looked glowing because of her alleged second pregnancy. The 32-year-old singer has been wearing baggy clothes as of late and Gawker supposed it's because of her pregnancy. Gone were the skintight dresses that are usually associated with the singer's wardrobe. Instead, as seen on Gawker's photo she opted for a baggy black and white "sack" to the Annie premiere and another red baggy dress while in Williamsburg. The site even described the blouse she wore to the Nets game as "lumpy."
However, what's interesting to note was Beyonce's preference not to have any alcoholic drinks during the game. It's believed to be a deviation from the drinks she usually takes while watching a basketball game. Gawker pointed out that in April while watching the Nets vs. Houston Rockets game, Beyoncé was photographed sipping on champagne. Likewise, she was seen chugging down on beer while watching the 2012 Knick's game in New York. Moreover, Gawker claimed Queen Bey may have been taking Zofran to battle her morning sickness. She was supposedly seen during last month's Nets game looking drowsy when she rocked herself back and forth.
Regardless, Beyoncé and Jay Z have yet to address the pregnancy speculations. They have neither declined nor confirmed the rumours and have remained mum. Some fans assumed the singer may just have put on a little weight and not really carrying Jay Z's second child.

Kai and his mother hugged and cried, while his father told him to take responsibility and face the matter bravely. The 23-year-old apologised repeatedly to those who were present and was sorry for letting his family, company, sponsors and fans down. Kai was also worried that his saga will affect movie earnings (Tiny Times 4) and the reputation of his company.
A Chinese character 'Zheng', which means upright, was written by Kai on the wall of the detention centre, a method he uses to count the number of days he has left in the detention centre.
In addition, The State Administration of Radio Film and Television of China has announced that Kai will be banned from the China media industry. Insiders revealed the ruling set by authorities to be the harshest for celebrities and may therefore end their showbiz careers.
It is said that Chinese movie Tiny Times 4, who features Kai as one of the male leads, will remove his parts in the film before releasing it in cinemas. As filming has already ended and Kai has a considerably large role in it, writer-director Guo Jingming has yet to make a response on this matter.
Co-starring as Kai's girlfriend in the movie, Amber Kuo clarified through her manager that she has not received any news and will continue to work as usual.
Besides the movie, Kai faced pull-outs from more than 10 endorsements including KFC China. Due to contractual terms, another chewing gum company will investigate the matter before deciding on Kai's endorsement.
