Lady Gaga has alleged that US gossip magnate Perez Hilton mocked her on the day she had her hip accident.
Taking to Twitter tonight (August 16), the 'Applause' singer made the claim that Hilton had sent her a text message featuring an image of her in a wheelchair.
Across the picture, Hilton had allegedly written "KARMA", while it also featured an image of Madonna pointing a gun at Gaga.
On Twitter, the 27-year-old wrote: "Still have the text Perez sent me of me in a wheelchair w the words KARMA written across + Madonna pointing a gun at me. Day of my accident."
The singer, who recently posed naked for V magazine, then called on her fans to ignore this type of "hatred".
At the time of writing, Hilton was yet to respond formally to the claims on the social networking site. However, he did write shortly after Gaga's tweets were sent: "Woah! @LadyGaGa's Applause has dropped to #4 on @iTunesMusic in America. That country singer, Luke Bryan, is beating her."
Gaga was forced to cancel a number of 'Born This Way Ball' tour dates in February this year so that she could have treatment for synovitis, a severe inflammation of the joints. She had to then use a wheelchair, which she named Emma.
She subsequently had the use of a gold-plated wheelchair, which she later donated to a fan.
