American Idol's Joanne Borgella dies, aged 32
American Idol's Joanne Borgella has died, aged 32.
The reality star and singer's family posted a statement on her Facebook account confirming that Borgella passed away on Saturday (October 18) from endometrial cancer.
Her family said: "Her faith, courage and strength were unshaken throughout every obstacle she encountered.
"We know her spirit still shines and will continue to live on in heaven."
Borgella rose to fame on Mo'Nique's Fat Chance in 2005, ultimately becoming the pageant's winner.
She subsequently earned a spot in American Idol's Top 24 in 2008.
The singer more recently served as a coach on MTV's self-improvement reality show Made.
