Star Trek actor Michael Ansara has died, aged 91.
The Syrian-born star passed away at his home in Calabasas, California, on Wednesday (July 31) after suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
His former agent Michael B Druxman confirmed the news to The New York Times.
Ansara moved to the US when he was 2 years old and went on to become famous for playing Commander Kang in the original Star Trek series.
He secured his first film role in Action in Arabia in 1944 and was noted for starring in other TV shows such as Broken Arrow and Law of the Plainsman.
He also appeared in I Dream of Jeannie and provided the voice of Mr Freeze on Batman: The Animated Series and its spinoffs.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Beverly Kushida, a sister and a niece and nephew. His son Matthew, with former wife Barbara Eden, died of an accidental heroin overdose in 2001.
