Lady Gaga has been accused of breaching immigration law during a recent visit to Russia.
The singer performed in Saint Petersburg last year on her world tour, prompting accusations from Russian politicians of promoting "gay propaganda" during the show.
The singer has now been targeted by local politician Vitaly Milonov, who has filed a request for the prosecutor general to launch an investigation into Gaga's stay in Russia.
It is alleged that she broke the law by performing for money in Russia on a tourist visa.
The politician has previously called for the same investigation to be carried out for Madonna, who performed in Russia last year as well and was similarly accused of illegally promoting homosexuality during her concert.
A representative for the prosecutor general said of the investigations: "The visas issued were of the basic cultural exchange sort, which does not grant their bearers the right to engage in any commercial activity."
The cases may now be forwarded to the Foreign Ministry and the Federal Migration Service for further investigation.
