Pop singer Wanbi Tuan Anh dies at 26

Vietnamese pop singer Wanbi Tuan Anh, who used to be the top teenage singer with several hits between 2010 and 2011, dies Sunday at home, in the griefs of his family and friends.

Wanbi withdrew from the showbiz in October 2012 after he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, which caused him to become visually impaired months later.

In late December 2012, local artists and fans donated money to help him afford a surgery, as well as a show, now become his last ever, to express his gratefulness to the donors.

Nguyen Tuan Anh (January 9 1987 - July 21 2013) was a vietnamese pop singer who debuted as a model in 2005 for magazines like Muc Tim, Hoa Hoc Ttro, etc. In 2008, he began his singing career by releasing a duet song (Kem Dau Tinh Yeu) with singer Toc Tien. The same year, he released his first album (Wanbi 0981) and the song Doi Mat (Eyes) instantly became a hit. In 2009, he won an award at Lan Song Xanh given to the male singer with a promising career. He also had his first actng role in Ao Cuoi Thien Duong (Wedding dress from heaven). After the death of his father, he began to develop symptom of muscular force loss and was diagnosed for a brain tumor. After a successful surgery in Singapour, he made a comeback in 2010 with his second album (Thang #) without telling anyone about his medical condition. That album was a compilation of his self-composed songs. He was then criticized by somes because of his weight gain and his near haircut which hid his right eye. In fact, because of the brain tumor, he loss his right eye sight and wanted to hide it. In october 2012, he decided to take a break from his singing career because of a relapse from his brain tumor. Because he didn't have enough money to have a surgery, his friends in the vpop industry organized a fundraising show for him. At the end they raised approximately 50 000 USD, which was not enough for a surgery in the USA. He then decided to take a part for a surgery in Singapour and gave the other part for cancer hospitals in Vietnam. He died on the 21th of July after he was brought to the emergency for a fever.
