Johnny Depp has been summoned to testify in a hit-and-run murder case, it has been reported.
The actor was served with a court summons on Thursday (April 10) during the premiere of his new movie, Transcendence.
A Los Angeles lawyer is trying to make a claim for insanity for his client, Nancy Lekon, who allegedly ran over and killed a pedestrian in 2009.
Lekon has plead guilty by reason of insanity, as she told police after her arrest that she had been on her way to a secret rendezvous with her boyfriend Johnny Depp.
According to TMZ, Lekon's lawyer wants Depp to testify in court that he does not know the defendant.
Depp, who recently confirmed his engagement to Amber Heard, has yet to comment on the case.
