Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle website Goop crashed after the announcement of her split from Chris Martin.
The couple posted a statement on the website on Tuesday (March 25) saying that they were separating after over 10 years of marriage.
"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," the message read. "We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate."
The message generated so much traffic that users trying to access the site received error notifications.
Paltrow's Goop site has received criticism in the past, with the actress dismissing critics who "don't get it".
Despite the split, Paltrow and the Coldplay frontman have said that they plan to continue to "co-parent" their children.
