Angelina Jolie is front and center of the new posters for Maleficent, Disney's live-action retelling of their animated classic Sleeping Beauty.
Jolie will take on the role of the purple-clad 'Mistress of All Evil' Maleficent, who left a curse on Princess Aurora in Disney's 1959 film. The new incarnation will present the "untold story" of the iconic villain.
Elle Fanning will play Aurora in the Robert Stromberg-directed fantasy, with Juno Temple, Sharlto Copley, Peter Capaldi and Brenton Thwaites among the supporting cast.
Jolie's 4-year-old daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will appear in the film as a young Aurora.
"The exercise wasn't, 'How can we have fun with a villain?'" Jolie said of the character. "It was, 'What turns people evil and vile and aggressive and cruel? What could have possibly happened to her?'"
Maleficent will open in cinemas on May 30.
