Kate Middleton and the Queen welcomed some major movie stars to Buckingham Palace on Monday evening (February 17), including Helen Mirren, 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen and new Downton Abbey star Richard E Grant.
The event marked the Queen's 60 years as patron of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Helena Bonham Carter, who played the Queen's mother in The King's Speech, also attended.

The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge, who wore a recycled Alexander McQueen red dress, greeted the celebrities in the White Drawing Room.
Uma Thurman, Hugh Laurie, Joely Richardson, Gemma Arterton, Roger Moore, Harvey Weinstein, Ralph Fiennes, Angela Lansbury and Joan Collins were also invited to the palace.

Helen Mirren accepted the BAFTA Fellowship at the 67th British Academy Film Awards on Sunday night.
The Queen actress said last week that she feels "attached to [Elizabeth I] in some invisible way".
Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity was the winner by numbers with six awards, while 12 Years a Slave took home the Best Film honor and Best Actor for Chiwetel Ejiofor.
