Justin Bieber reportedly still owes German authorities $11,000 (£6,386) after abandoning his pet monkey at an airport in March.
The star left the animal - named Mally - with customs officials after he was found to have brought the primate onto German soil without completing the required paperwork.
According to Celebuzz, the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation sent a letter to the 'As Long As You Love Me' singer's private California address back in September, notifying him that he needed to pay the substantial fine.
"Additionally, a copy of our letter was delivered to a staff member of Justin Bieber yesterday in L.A. at his arrival from Costa Rica," explained Ellen Frederichs, an attorney from the organization.
"As Mr. Bieber should be informed about his payment obligations by now, we hope that he takes his responsibility and settles the costs he has caused to the public, just like anybody else would have to do."
The singer - who is currently on tour in South America - surrendered ownership of the capuchin to the German government by default, after failing to act on its seizure within two months.
After a short stay in quarantine, the animal was taken to Munich Animal Protection League (MAPL) animal shelter.
"If Mr. Bieber will not settle his costs," added Frederichs, "the payment might have to be enforced when he [enters] Germany again."
