Freddie Smith has been sentenced to two years of probation following a car crash that left his girlfriend Alyssa Tabit injured back in October, the Associated Press reports. The Days of Our Lives actor has also had his driver's license suspended for a year.
As previously reported, Smith, 27, was driving Tabit in Kingsville Township, Ohio, at the time of the incident. He lost control of his car, crossed the centerline of the road, and the vehicle reportedly flipped over.
Smith sustained minor injuries from the scary accident. Tabit was seriously hurt and flown by a medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown.
Smith pleaded guilty in December for driving under the influence and to felony vehicular assault. According to AP, he apologized in court on Wednesday, Feb. 18. He will also need to pay $1,400 in fines, take a driver's intervention program, and speak to students at every Ashtabula County high school about the dangers of drinking and driving.
No further details on Tabit's updated condition has been released.
