Vin Diesel has claimed that he put his home on the line to make Riddick.
The Fast and the Furious star revealed that he would have been homeless had the long-awaited sequel not been completed.
"I had to leverage my house. If we didn't finish the film, I would be homeless," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Diesel also revealed that he felt compelled to make the film after a conversation with a diehard fan who told him: "We want a rated-R movie and we'd be willing to pay $10 each. Surely you'd have enough to make it then."
He added: "Something about that comment made me think, bless their heart, and if I can do anything with this new-found success, if I could do anything at all, I could deliver on that wish."
Riddick will open in the UK on September 4 and September 6 in the US. Watch a preview video below:
